Connect Staff Profile: Daniel Owens

You may or may not have heard that we have a new Sales and Marketing Coordinator on our team and his name is Daniel Owens! Of course, we had to sit down with him and get to know him a little more with these ten fun, random questions. We all know you were dying to find out what he would do if a zombie walked into Connect.

If you could travel to any one place in the whole world and not be allowed to travel anywhere else, where would it be and why?

It would have to be Boston. You have Fenway Park, TD Garden, Quincy Market, Boston Commons, and home! Always have to be able to go home.

Name one person you look up to and tell us why!

One person I look up to a lot professionally is Carlos Gil. Nether of us have degrees but both of us have embraced the process of self-teaching. Right before he started at LinkedIn and I started my first paid marketing position, we connected on social media. Through DM’s, LinkedIn and Slack we talked about how to deal with situations ranging from bosses who don’t value our time to how to grow yourself personally. We’ve lost touch a little, he’s moved onto new things and so have I but I continue to see Carlos as an inspiration.

A zombie walks into Connect and asks for a tour, what do you do?

Easy. Rule #2 – Double Tap.

What’s something you’re passionate about that not many people know of?

World of Tanks…

No but really, cooking or fitness. I don’t know if people don’t know about those but I’m a pretty open person.

You’re only allowed to eat fast food for the rest of your life and you can only go to one fast food joint. Which one is it?

Chipotle. Endless options.

What is one of the top things on your bucket list?

Skydive! I hate heights…
Congrats! You won an empty lot in an ideal location and you have the money to do as you wish! What do you do with it?

Build a massive indoor hockey complex. There are not enough places to play in the Tucson area and I know a lot of guys who would love it.

A big kangaroo just pushed you. How do you respond?

Just try not to end up a meme on the interwebs.

Tell us your life story in one sentence!

I was born in San Diego, raised in Boston, and am stuck in the desert.

What’s your favorite part about working for a coworking space?

Coming to work everyday and being able to see how meaningful my job is and that the norm in our space is to help others out. There is such a variety of members in our space with so many unique skill sets and they’re ready and willing to help each other out. It’s truly amazing.
