6th Annual Desert Foods Festival

The Garden Kitchen will host its 6th Annual Desert Foods Festival, a free celebration of Tucson’s local food system, for food demonstrations and tastings that feature wild and cultivated foods native to the Southwest. Well show you how to create delicious, healthy meals using ingredients such as cholla buds, tepary beans, nopales, mesquite flour, and prickly pear fruit. Community partners will feature a variety of activities and information on native foods and other great Tucson community resources. Create sugar garden skulls with the Pima Seed library, and participate in other informative and fun garden activities such as plant-a-seed with a chance to win great gardening prizes! Salsa with Ritmos Latinos dance club, dance with the AZ Swing CATs, and let the kids have some fun at our physical activity station.
